Favorite Music
This was another one that felt a bit book reportish. I had something else written for this, but it was a little long and opted for something I’d already written and never shared that happened to fall in the right category. It’s like I knew I’d need these in the future or something 🤣
The Valkyrie Goddess
drums pounding, rhythmical strings
orchestral resonance fills the air
behold, a heavenly figure appears
her long hair flows with the gentle breeze
the enchantress begins to sing
a voice of elegance, of beauty
the siren continues to belt out The Score
with a powerful, angelic sound
those in earshot are in awe
jaws drop, guts quiver
grown men reduced to tears
not of sorrow or pain
but happiness and joy
the intensity builds
notes of such energy and force
at last, the crescendo
like nothing ever heard before
all are left in wonderment
at the stunning, magical presence
of the living Valkyrie goddess
This poem, of course, references the song “Ghost Love Score” sung by Floor Jansen and Nightwish at their live performance at Wacken Open Air 2013. As seems to be the norm, everyone loves the poetry I’ve shared. Few, if any, have ever read most of my poetry, so it’s gratifying to share it, especially now that I’m in a different mental space than when I first wrote it. This is another “repeat” post, but this is MY website, so I’ll do whatever I want 🤣
